Style Is The Answer is a celebration of Harry's music, but we also want this fanzine to represent a positive fandom space that respects him as a human as well.Artists who create or promote hateful content against marginalized communities will not be accepted.Additionally, artists who engage in conspiracy theories about Harry's life will not be accepted. If you think Harry Styles is forced to write "stunt" songs and forced to lie about his relationships, please don't apply. Thank you.

What kind of artist are you looking for?
Artists who create 2D illustrations, digital or traditional.Photo manipulations, photobashing, collages and graphic designs using photos of Harry Styles, while perfectly valid forms of fanart, aren't allowed in this fanzine. Just make sure everything is created by your hand and you're good!If you work traditionally make sure you're able to scan your work at 300dpi or take hi-res photos suitable for printing.What do I have to draw?
An original illustration based on the Harry Styles song you're assigned. You may take inspiration from MVs, photoshoots, live performances, interviews, the song title, and of course song lyrics.The only requirement is you must include a visualization of Harry in your illustration, whether that be a full body drawing of him, or just his face or hands, a bunny in a pearl necklace, or maybe a familiar outfit of his afloat in the ocean. Lean into your own sensibilities and strengths as an illustrator!Wait, we can't pick which song we draw for?!
You'll apply with your top 5 songs and though we'll try to give everyone their first choice, you might end up with your 5th. Make sure you'd be up for drawing different songs! There's a lot of visuals to be drawn from every song on Harry's discography so hopefully this doesn't scare you <3What do you not want me to draw?
No exact copies of photos/screenshots of MVs. You may use all the drawing references you need (it's encouraged!), but if you're assigned Watermelon Sugar for example, we don't want an exact copy of a screenshot of Harry stroking the watermelon from the MV's opening.No ships, even if there's a confirmed person the song is about. Do not draw other musicians, celebrities, or Harry's family. You may include people and animals who appeared in the MVs.No NSFW because we can't print that, but feel free to match Harry's level of risque.How will you choose artists?
Artists will be chosen based on their illustration skills, style, and aesthetic. You don't need to draw in a realistic style or even be a Harry fanartist. You might've heard of Harry Styles just yesterday and have fallen hard and are now bursting with creativity, awesome! We're looking for artists who can complete a polished illustration based on a Harry Styles song.You'll submit 3 finished illustrations in your application for consideration. Your illustrations don't necessarily have to be Harry fanart, just 3 works you feel best reflect your abilities and voice. How much money will I make?
After zine production and shipping costs, the rest will be evenly distributed among artists. All artists will receive a free physical copy of the zine.Please don't apply if money is your main motivation. The purpose of fanzines is to create a book fans can enjoy together. You should apply if you enjoy Harry's music and want your art printed in a book with other fans!That being said, participating artists are encouraged to share promo posts on social media during the preorder window to boost sales. It's a group effort!After the fanzine wraps up, can I sell prints of my illustration?
Absolutely! You retain all rights to your illustration to do with as you please. All we ask is you refrain from posting your full piece online until after all physical zines have been shipped.

What is a merch artist?
For fanzine projects, merch artists create the extra goodies that come bundled with a zine. Examples of merch: postcard-size prints, stickers, sticker sheets, bookmarks, buttons, acrylic pins, acrylic standees, keycharms, enamel pins, washi tape, patches.How many merch artists are you looking for?
3-5. We'd love to have a few goodies for a zine bundle <3Can I apply as a fanzine artist and a merch artist?
If you can handle the extra work, absolutely.How will you choose merch artists?
We're looking for experienced merch artists. In your application you'll submit up to 3 photos of merch you've made, and an idea of what merch you'd like to create for this zine. Please keep your designs themed to Harry's music. Merch should be lightweight and smaller than 6 x 9 inches (15 x 22 centimeters)All merch production will be handled by us, you just need to provide the design.If you're an accepted fanzine artist and would like to contribute older illustrations you've drawn (or something new!) as postcard-size prints or stickers that's more than welcome, let us know!How will merch artists be compensated?
All merch artists will receive a free physical copy of the zine and the merch they've created.After the fanzine wraps up, can I sell my merch independently?
Of course! You retain all rights to your design to do with as you please.
